Yes and no. Cal Fire is responsible for inspecting and enforcing defensible-space compliance on improved properties (properties with homes) both in Twain Harte and throughout the state. Cal Fire, however, does not have jurisdiction on vacant properties (properties without homes). Twain Harte Community Services District's (THCSD) Fire Department, located at 18781 Cedar Drive, provides emergency response and fire-protection services to all residents and structures in the District. While THCSD's firefighters are trained to fight wildfire, providing structure fire-protection is the Department's primary responsibility.
THCSD tests its Emergency Alert Horn quarterly. It recently has been tested on Saturdays at noon. The test involves three long blasts of the horn, which is set atop the fire station located in downtown Twain Harte at 18781 Cedar Drive.
