Regional Water Conservation Rebate Program
All Tuolumne County residents are now eligible for the Watersense Toilet and Showerhead Rebate! Twain Harte Community Services District and Tuolumne Utilities District, in partnership with the Tuolumne County Resource Conservation District, are offering a rebate of up to $100.00 for one Watersense labeled toilet and up to $25.00 for one Watersense labeled showerhead, purchased as early as January 1, 2017. According to the EPA, replacing just one conventional toilet and one conventional showerhead with Watersense approved models could save the average american household 15,900 gallons of water per year! Some models can even be found at a price below the rebate amount.
This rebate program is made possible by a $3 million grant awarded to the Tuolumne County Resource Conservation District (TCRCD) for a Regional Water Conservation Program and is anticipated to last until November 30, 2018. The grant is part of a larger $8.1 million grant awarded to the Tuolumne-Stanislaus Integrated Regional Water Management Authority by the Department of Water Resources in July 2014 for drought related projects.
