TWAIN HARTE, CA: The Twain Harte Community Services District (District) will be conducting smoke testing on the District’s sewer collection system on Tuesday, September 22, 2026. This operation will take place on Mark Twain Drive between 7:00 am and 4:00 pm and will be completed that day.

The testing will be done by blowing non-toxic smoke into the sewer main to identify defects in the sewer system, including leaks and faulty connections, Residents may notice smoke coming from manholes, sewer cleanouts, roof vents, and the ground. The smoke will not cause harm or leave any residue. The District advises residents to pour water down infrequently used drains to prevent smoke from entering homes.

The smoke testing will serve as an integral part of our maintenance program aimed at reducing sewer backups and improving overall system efficiency.
