Do you know what do we do? Our primary job function is to operate the water treatment plant and provide our customers with the highest quality, best tasting water we can. Twain Harte gets its raw water from Lyons dam thru the ditch system. We pull the raw water from the ditch and process it through the plant. Our employees are required to secure and maintain Water Treatment licenses through the State. From the plant, the treated water travels to our distribution system; this is all the underground piping in the roads that gets the water to your house. The operations staff spends much time installing new water services, repair water main leaks, laying new water mains, and respond to all water trouble calls. Our employees are required to secure and maintain Water Distribution licenses through the State. Now, what happens when you flush that toilet or drain the kitchen sink and your sewer backs up? THCSD staff to the rescue. Of course, we work to maintain our sewer collection system in working order so blockages do not occur, however, the pipes are getting old and roots/grease are finding their way in!. You've seen us driving around with that big white trailer called "Trixie", which is our sewer hydro flushing machine. Trixie is part of our preventative maintenance; allowing us to safely and effectively clean sewer mains to minimize problems in our collection system. (The state intends to require sewer collection system licenses). What about Eproson Park? You guessed it; Doug Hay, our water meter reader and water distribution system operator, provides meticulous park maintenance work including garbage pick up, emptying of the garbage cans, cleaning of the bathrooms and general maintenance of the park and playground equipment. Doug is assisted by the entire water/sewer operations staff. On occasion, we are also called upon to help the local community service groups with manpower and equipment on community projects. |
